Google Adsense
So, we’ve been approved for google adsense. Not sure if that is a blessing or a headache but none the less its our first monetizing effort on the blog. So far today it looks like we’ve got alot of impression but zero clicks. Oh well we didn’t expect to much yet with only 51 total visitors. If you haven’t already, you should go to Google and sign up for their AdSense program. Its quick and easy to use.
RSS Feed Submission
Toady I have submitted our feed to the following sites. This is really easy and I highly recommend it.
Wednesday Morning Reports
So it looks like the blog submission have helped. According to our web analytics we’ve had 51 visitors to our site already. We feel pretty good about that since our blog is only 2 days old. On todays schedule is adding our RSS feeds and some affiliate links the our site. I’ll keep you posted on the results. Have a great mid-week.
Becoming A Google Webmaster
Actually anybody can do it. Simply sign up for a google account and go here http://www.google.com/webmasters. Once your a “webmaster” you can submit your site or multiple sites to be indexed by google. This is a good idea, if you want search engine traffic. I have added our blog to the google webmasters page and it looks like we’ve already been indexed! Woohoo! Thats great news.
Joining Feedburner
We’ve also submitted our blog feed to Feedburner.com. This is a pretty straight forward procedure as well. Simply sign up, submit your info and place a small piece of code on your blog. You can actually see the feedburner code on this blog. Its the small orange button on the third column to the right. If you have a free account, there are widgets and modules that will install feedburner for you. Currently we have “zero” feeds. Yeah!
Adding your blog to Technorati
I’ve add our blog to Technorati today. It was pretty simple and straight forward. Sign up, submit your information, add a few keywords and your ready to go. So far we have “Zero” Authority links and a ranking of 8,911,336. According to Technorati, the authority is the number of blogs linking to a website in the last six months. The higher the number, the more Technorati Authority the blog has. So in other words, we have a long way to go. I’ll keep you updated on our Technorati status as time goes on.
Alot of Information in a Short Time.
Alright, since I work from home, I have time to test, and build my blog and can’t stand waiting one day to post a topic, then wait another. So with that said, I’m just going to post an update here when I make and update. So if I go a few days without posting, it’s probably because I have attempted just about everything possible to monetize my blog. Enjoy, and I hope I’m not going to fast.

Which Blog Platform to Choose.
We’ve decided to go with wordpress and host it on our own servers. We felt that wordpress really allowed us to customize the look, layout, and feel of our blog. In addition we get full control over our monetizing efforts. Also we decided to host our blog with HostWay. Since both of us, have hosted with them before we felt this was a comfortable choice. They actually upload wordpress for you, with the click of a button so that eliminated any code work on our end. Now it’s up to us to start blogging!
